| Description | Hi Jason [Background] 1. SKB HomeUI(Launcher) is using Webview, so HomeUI Reset occurs when Webview is updated from Google 2. To prevent this, the SKB HomeUI uses custom(skb) Webview that are additionally configured so that Google Webview Update is not affected 3. But due to 2), about 80 to 90MB of Webview size is wasted and needs to be improved So SKB is requesting a review to see if the following is possible. 1. If STB have a Webview to update from Google, just download it and only update it at the Sleep mode. 2. Download and update Webview only at Sleep mode if STB have a Webview to update from Google And is there any other way? Thank you YK.Jung | ||||

Hi Sam The point of the issue is that the HomeUI will restart when Google webview is updated, which will increase the VoC. Therefore, please check the following points as well. 1) Is there any way to block the google webview update? 2) Is there a way to control the google webview update on STB? Additionally, can STB change only Google webview to manual update by default 3) When updating Google services, how to implement structurally in the UI to make it impossible to be affected Please check the above and contact 3PL/Google as well. Hi Younkwang, According to our current knowhow, Google's APP will download and auto-upgrade the WebView APP in background and we don't know how to control it yet. For now, I think we only can stop the system killing WebView process(old version) to restart(using the new version). But in this way, when reboot, the new WebView will be used. So we still try to find the solution. Thanks~ Sam |
